Teams microphone issue

Other participants cannot hear me in Teams meetings.

Microphone icon shows crossed out, mic level bar stays flat when speaking, or a "check your microphone" warning appears.

Select the correct microphone device in Teams settings and verify Windows privacy permissions.

1. 1In a Teams meeting, click the ... menu > Settings > Device settings and confirm the correct microphone is selected.
2. 2Speak and check the microphone level indicator moves.
3. 3Check Windows Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and confirm Teams has access.
4. 4Unmute using the meeting toolbar, not just a physical mute switch on a headset.
5. 5Restart Teams if the microphone still is not detected.
6. 6Test the microphone in another app (e.g. Voice Recorder) to isolate a hardware issue.
