Problem
I received a suspicious email that looks like phishing.
Symptoms
Unexpected email asking to click a link, verify credentials, urgent payment requests, or a mismatched sender address.
Solution
Do not click any links or open attachments. Report the email and delete it.
Step-by-step instructions
- 1Do not click any links, buttons, or attachments in the email.
- 2Check the sender's actual email address, not just the display name.
- 3Use the "Report Phishing" or "Report Message" button in Outlook if available.
- 4Forward the email to the IT Security team if no report button is available.
- 5Delete the email after reporting it.
- 6If you already clicked a link or entered credentials, change your password immediately and contact IT.
