Problem
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) prompt is not working when signing in.
Symptoms
No push notification received, MFA code rejected, or the authenticator app is not generating codes.
Solution
Confirm device time sync and re-register the authenticator app if needed.
Step-by-step instructions
- 1Check your phone has an internet or mobile data connection to receive the push notification.
- 2Confirm the authenticator app's clock is correct (enable automatic time sync in the app or phone settings).
- 3Try requesting a new code instead of reusing an old one.
- 4Use a backup verification method (SMS or backup codes) if available.
- 5Re-register the authenticator app under My Account > Security Info if codes keep failing.
- 6Contact IT if you are locked out and have no working MFA method.
