Problem

I received a Quarantine Summary email listing blocked messages and I'm not sure what to do with it.

Symptoms

Every day at 12:00 you receive a Quarantine Summary email from release-ctrl@vaultegrity.io and or quarantine@messaging.microsoft.com listing emails that were flagged as suspicious and held back for review. Some of these may be legitimate emails that were blocked.

Solution

Review each listed email and choose Release, Whitelist, or Delete depending on whether it is legitimate, a repeat false positive, or genuine spam.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1Open the Quarantine Summary email from release-ctrl@vaultegrity.io or quarantine@messaging.microsoft.com - both addresses are safe, do not mark them as spam.
  2. 2Review each listed blocked email and its sender.
  3. 3If you recognise the email and believe it is safe, click Release. It will be delivered to your inbox.
  4. 4If Vaultegrity (Fortimail) shows a warning that the site is "classified as malicious" when releasing, click Continue anyway - this is a known false alarm IT is working to resolve with Microsoft, and it is safe to proceed.
  5. 5If legitimate emails from the same sender keep getting blocked, click Whitelist instead. This opens a pre-filled email to IT - just click Send and IT will add the sender to the safe senders list so future emails come through automatically.
  6. 6If you are certain an email is spam, click Delete to remove it permanently.
  7. 7Contact IT if you are unsure about a specific blocked email before releasing it.
