Problem

I want to change how and when Teams notifies me about messages, calls, and meetings.

Symptoms

You're getting too many (or too few) Teams notifications, or notifications aren't showing up correctly on desktop or mobile.

Solution

Adjust notification settings in Teams to control what you're notified about and how, on both desktop and mobile.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1Open Teams, click your profile picture, then click Settings.
  2. 2Go to the Notifications section.
  3. 3Adjust settings for Messages, Meetings, Calls, and Other as needed (e.g. Banner and feed, Only show in feed, or Off).
  4. 4Set up Quiet hours or Quiet days if you want notifications muted outside working hours.
  5. 5On mobile, open the Teams app > Settings > Notifications to configure push notifications separately - desktop and mobile settings are independent.
  6. 6Close Settings once done.
  7. 7Contact IT if notifications still aren't behaving as expected after adjusting these settings.
