Problem
I need to add another email account to Outlook.
Symptoms
A second work or personal email address doesn't show up in Outlook yet.
Solution
Add the account from Outlook's account settings and sign in - the steps differ slightly between Classic Outlook and New Outlook.
Step-by-step instructions
- 1Classic Outlook: go to File > Add Account.
- 2Classic Outlook: enter the email address and click Connect.
- 3Classic Outlook: enter the password when prompted and complete multi-factor authentication if asked.
- 4Classic Outlook: click Done, then restart Outlook if prompted.
- 5New Outlook: click the gear icon (Settings) > Accounts > Email accounts.
- 6New Outlook: click Add account, enter the email address, and follow the sign-in prompts.
- 7New Outlook: complete multi-factor authentication if prompted - the account then appears in the folder pane on the left.
- 8Contact IT if sign-in fails or the account doesn't appear after adding it.
