Problem
Computer cannot connect to WiFi.
Symptoms
WiFi shows as disconnected, "no internet, secured", or the network is not visible in the list.
Solution
Toggle WiFi, forget and rejoin the network, and reset the network adapter if needed.
Step-by-step instructions
- 1Confirm WiFi is turned on (check the physical switch or Airplane Mode toggle).
- 2Click the network icon in the taskbar and select the correct WiFi network.
- 3Forget the network and reconnect with the password.
- 4Restart the laptop and the WiFi router/access point if possible.
- 5Run Settings > Network & Internet > Network troubleshooter.
- 6As a last resort, disable and re-enable the network adapter in Device Manager.
