No sound

No audio is coming from the computer.

No sound from speakers or headphones, muted output, or wrong playback device selected.

Check the volume mixer, default playback device, and audio drivers.

1. 1Check that volume is not muted and is turned up, both in Windows and on physical speakers/headphones.
2. 2Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and confirm the correct playback device is selected.
3. 3Unplug and reconnect headphones or speakers.
4. 4Open Device Manager and check for issues under Sound, video and game controllers.
5. 5Restart the computer.
6. 6Run the Windows audio troubleshooter under Settings > System > Sound > Troubleshoot.
